The Basics :
Depending on how you hold the cube, the front will be
reffered to as F, the right side will be refered to as R, the top will be refered
to as U, the left side will be refered to as L, the bottom will be refered to
as D, and the back will be refered to as B.
If the algorithym I
want you to perform is : Ri, Di, R, D, the i means to rotate the side given
counterclockwise and if it just shows the side then rotate the side given
clockwise.
You must memorize this
to learn the algorithms.
Getting the plus :
To solve rubik’s cube you must first get the plus sign on the U. To do so you must also line up the side of each of these squares so they match the center color of the U and the center color of the F, R, L & B.
It should look like this:

If a piece is in the
right spot but the colors are touching the opposite one they’re supposed to,
then hold the cube so that the plus that you are forming is on the U and the
piece that you need to flip is touching the U and the F and then perform this algorithm :
Ui, Ri, U, Fi
Once you have the plus
sign you can now start getting the corners.
Getting the corners of the
plus :

Getting the 4 side pieces:
Now
that you have the top row complete it’s time to work on the middle row. Turn
the cube upside down. There are 4 pieces you’ll need to find.
For example you'll need to find the red and green piece to go here.

Rotate
the red and green piece on the U only. Make sure that you rotate it so the red
or the green side of that piece is on top of the appropriate color. It should look like this:
